Kate Hartig - School Library Media Portfolio
Welcome!
I created the portfolio as part of my requirements to complete a Masters in Instructional Technology with a focus on School Library Media
from Towson University. I reflected on each of the previously used 2010 American Association of School Librarians standards. I include artifacts relevant to my studies. There are new standards in use these days. I hope that some of my artifacts will be helpful to you!
I presently volunteer as a School Librarian at a Preschool and tutor Dual language learners. My experience at Towson has equipped me with the instructional technology skills needed to organize and spearhead the closing an elementary school library, focus on budget and collection development for prekindergarten beginner readers, and move higher level fiction and nonfiction materials to neighboring school libraries. As the Pandemic continues, I have been able to use familiar or new, and sometimes free, educational tools and available acceptable use privileges to continue to reach students. Stay healthy, do not fear the vaccine, and mask up to get us back to a new exciting normal!
